The company introduced a unique daily repayment option with multiple channels, enabling easy collections. To date, NeoGrowth has served 100,000+ businesses, supporting their growth ambitions.

Business Challenge

Disaster Recovery Gaps: Lack of established DR connectivity in the Hyderabad region, creating potential risks during failover.

Active Directory Dependencies: Synchronization issues due to all Windows servers being bound to the Mumbai parent domain.

Database Replication Complexity: Multi-tier applications like AdvanceSuite and Reportal faced replication and stabilization challenges.

Service Hosting Constraints: AWS Amplify was unavailable in Hyderabad, requiring EC2-based hosting and load balancing.

Business Impact Risks: Downtime could disrupt loan disbursal, repayment tracking, onboarding, and payments.

Failover & Failback Concerns: Ensuring smooth EDR failover and failback was essential for compliance.

Goals & Objectives

Establish secure connectivity and replication between Mumbai (Primary) and Hyderabad (DR).

Achieve RTO and RPO of under 3 hours.

Validate replication and seamless failover/failback for AdvanceSuite, Reportal, and other applications.

Conduct mock and actual DR drills to ensure readiness.

Enable secure employee access to DR systems.

Ensure uninterrupted customer access to applications during DR.

Build stakeholder confidence in IT resilience and compliance readiness.

Application Scope

A total of 16 critical applications were included in the DR drill.

Solution Approach

Installed EDR Replication Agents on all critical servers to replicate data from Mumbai to Hyderabad.

Implemented Transit Gateway (TGW) Peering for secure connectivity between regions.

Migrated DNS from Bigrock to Amazon Route 53, enabling fast failover and redirection.

Conducted a mock drill to validate failover performance before the live test.

Designed a failover process with verification steps for integrity, access, and payment continuity.

Replaced unavailable AWS Amplify with EC2 + Application Load Balancer for hosting in Hyderabad.

Implementation Highlights

Preparation: Developed Runbooks, Plan of Action, and Inventory documents.

Network Readiness: Established TGW Peering between Mumbai and Hyderabad.

DNS Migration: Ensured fast switchover using Route 53.

Mock Drill: Verified accessibility and workflows across all apps.

Actual DR Execution: Performed full failover for one business day, validated applications, transactions, and achieved RTO/RPO.

Restoration: Successfully failed back to Mumbai without issues.
